My beloved friends are getting married. Always an exciting occasion. Even more so when they ask you to build them a website!
The brief was to have an online invitation. Something more personal and bespoke than a simple Facebook invite, but similar in that it’s somewhere to put all the essential details guests can log into and take a look as needed.
Now, my CSS skills aren’t my strongest point, but I knew what I wanted to do. So it was a case of brushing up on my coding to allow me to achieve what I wanted. I managed to register, then I got to work hand-coding.

Summer of love
The wedding day itself is going to feature deck chairs and picnic baskets. So I wanted this to be the theme of the page. I created a background in photoshop and layered it with CSS.
Next I grabbed some icons from the web, purchased a wedding set and put it all together. Finally I plotted the location of the venues on a Google map to add some perspective.
Sure it’s simple and basic. Unfortunately that’s all I could manage as my time was a bit limited. But even so it does the job and the happy couple are, well, happy.
It has given me an idea I want develop though. So you may well be seeing more of this over the next few months…
