I’ve had my iPhone six months now and it’s fair to say it’s made quite and impression. Not least because of the apps. Here’s my favourite so far…
Run Keeper
As I’m in training for the Great South Run at the end of October, I’ve been using this app. I absolutely love it! Tracks my route, pace, speed and overall time.
Sad to say I can’t get away from Facebook. Although the novelty is fading. The recent update has improved the app version greatly. However, videos still don’t work and neither do many of the third-party apps.
Tweetie
I’ve tried a couple of Twitter apps but this one seems to be the best. Still not great but it does the job.
Scrabble
I know, I’m a geek, but I love Scrabble. Really pleased the ‘official’ version has made it as an app. There’s been plenty of free cheap imitations, but nothing compares!
Sky Sports Football Scores
As an avid Liverpool FC fan I’m always interested in the latest scores from the Prem. Sky have a great app, all that’s missing is Jeff Stelling’s banter!
Sky+
We’ve all done it. Forgot to set something to record before leaving the house. Thankfully it doesn’t matter now. It’s a bit of a pain setting up the Sky user account to begin with, but once that’s done, the app works great. Download speeds on 3G are ok too.
Shazam
I like to know what music’s playing sometimes. If no-one’s around who knows it can be tricky to find out. Shazam’s a great alternative.
WordPress
I often sit on the train to-and-from work thinking of posts to write for this blog. It’s great to be able to start them on the move and finish them off when I get home.
Mobile Me
As I’m a fully paid up member of the Apple Corp brigade, it’s great to be able to view my Mobile Me cloud space on my mobile. I can read documents and view photos.
MultiConvert
Whether it’s pounds to euros, or pounds to kilograms, it’s always helpful to be able to convert figures into other values. This is a great app for doing this. Surprisingly, I use it all the time.
