In December ’08, I was asked to host a lecture covering the various aspects of Online Journalism to first-year journalism students at the University of Northampton.
The lecture wasn’t meant to go too in-depth, more to inform what it takes to work in the field of online journalism.
I wanted to discuss the various types of skills the students would need if it’s the path they pursued in the future.

It covers what online journalism is, how writing styles differ, how to think beyond using just text and confirming that working ‘on the web’ doesn’t mean you have to be a geek!
