I taught second-year journalism students how to make short radio features using Adobe Audition. These packages were news-focused and often contained a mix of interviews, voiceover, sound effects and music.
As well as advising on the journalism within the packages, I also had to show the group how to assemble them once the raw audio had been gathered.
To do this we used my preferred audio editing software, Adobe Audition. For me it offers the right balance between having a programme do what you want it to do, while at the same time not overloaded with features.
To give a broad taster of what to do, I ran through the basics each time, explaining the parts of the software, what they do and how best to get the most out of it.
